Two men armed with hacksaws have been charged with trying to steal catalytic converters from parked vehicles at the local Best Buy store, Lower Paxton Township police said Monday.
Police said officers found Carl Shannon, 50, and David Destephano, 53, both of Harrisburg, trying to remove the converters, which contain precious metals sought for recycling, from Geek Squad trucks around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
Three large storm grates also were found in their car, investigators said.
Both men were charged with theft by unlawful taking, possessing instruments of crime, criminal mischief and criminal trespass.
